Spanish Regular Verbs in Preterit Tense


To conjugate regular verbs in the preterit tense in Spanish, simply drop the -ar, -er, and -ir and add the corresponding pronoun conjugations as in the table below.

Regular Verbs Conjugation in the Preterit Tense

Note:
The first and third person of the preterit have accent marks.
The nosotros plural form is the same in preterit tense as well as the present tense, only for the verbs ending in -ar and -ir.
